In a world of tacticool AR15s with rails and red-dots, I really wanted to make a throwback build to the M16A1 style: lightweight and 1960s space age vintage. The M16 entered United States Army service and was deployed for jungle warfare operations in South Vietnam in 1963, becoming the U.S. Military's standard service rifle of the Vietnam War by 1969.
